The sad truth about APIs in general is that their documentation is not written by people like you but by obtuse nerds who should take a crash course in usability. We usually spend more time trying to understand how a particular feature, method or routine works than effectively applying the base knowledge of a particular API to our daily work. Most of the API’s documentation assumes that you’re already familiar with a particular field of web development. Of course this is not the case, because it’s practically impossible to gain an encyclopedic knowledge of what is related to web technologies. I’ve added your book to my wish list. :-)
