New Site Theme

If you’re reading this on a feed, you might like to click in to inspect the new look which has now arrived on lornajane.net! I’ve moved all my existing content to wordpress, and the lovely people at magmadigital made the theme that you see here.

The aim of the site move was to give me a more grown-up feel to my site, which has evolved from crazy pink personal blog (although it’s been MUCH less pink in recent years) to the home page of my consultancy business. It has navigation and should make it much easier for people who don’t know what I do to find out what that is. It also has provision for linking to my book(s?) – my recent book project isn’t in print yet but you’ll see that part of the site come alive when it is – and to other site elements such as case studies or testimonials.

For now, you should be able to find everything here that was on the old site, and I’ll be blogging just the same as ever. If you have any comments then let me know; and if you’re on a feed, feel free to go back to it, nothing should look any different.

  1. Love the new look, and it’s even fixed your RSS feed (which I’ve been meaning to drop you a note about for a while!)

I hate to be picky, but the font you’re using in the comments section is rendering the lowercase letters “i” and “j” somewhat weirdly in Firefox on XP that I use at work, but I don’t know if that’s intentional or not? Also, in this blog post you’ve got a typo where you say “click in”, the HTML for it is showing a ref rather than a href.

Now for the less picky stuff :) Your avatar looks much better now – I don’t know if it was because it’d been compressed for your old site but wow, much better :) The general layout feels much cleaner and the colours work well. It definitely felt somewhat strange coming to your blog and having the only pink bit being right at the bottom of the page :)

Don’t know when I’ll be at PHPNW next, but I really missed catching up with you at OggCamp… Hopefully I’ll bump into you somewhere soon!

  2. I love the new look and hate to be critical, but………….
Have you looked at your site in Firefox with a scriptblocker turned on? The site renders properly but the font size is huge.
